Six days to go! Ash Maikousis is a regular MC at South Melbourne FC events, and she’s introduced us a few times now. She was also a Μεγαλοπρεπής (magnificent!) post screening interviewee and she had this exchange with her dad, SMFC president Nick:
Nick: This is the second time I've watched the movie and I cried both times.
Ash: And that would be twice in 30 years. I've seen him cry and it's at this film.
It's a beautiful story about migrants coming over from another country and finding their home at South Melbourne, at soccer in general. And I just think it brings up so many emotions for people watching it. It reminds you of your own family coming over here.

Forgive us a bit of a barrage of Ange & The Boss stuff as we near the line. Cam and I have been at it for over seven years, and this is THE week. Please glance away if it’s not really your thing. I’ll be back with parenting, footy, disability stuff, music, politics and Melbourne life shortly!
Here is my excellent chat with Gerard Whateley on SEN on Tuesday. I did a Speakola segment for him on sports speeches during lockdown. It was great to catch up.
Thanks,
Tony
Apologies for Palace not committing times on 15th & 16th for non Q&A screenings. We’ve found this very frustrating. Hopefully we will have these ticket links live soon.
